Exactly HOW are you taking care of yourself?

There are a lot of information out there on the internet of how to take care of yourself, including me now. 😉 So most of you already know what kind of routines you can create, like yoga, meditation, exercise and a lot more. However, the thing is that you don’t want this to feel like another chore you HAVE to do. One of my best friends, who is also a lifestyle coach, told me to only set up a time for selfcare but not another schedule of things to do. Instead pick something I feel like doing at the moment. By doing this, it takes a bit of the pressure off since we ususally have a lot of pressure on us during the days with things we already have to tick off.

I put an hour for myself in the mornings with no electronics to have my selfcare time. Make sure you either put your alarm a bit earlier then usual or just make sure you still have time for it without having to rush away to work after. It doesn’t even have to be for a whole hour.

Here are 3 categories you can use as a guide to make sure you are taking care of all you. Make your own list of things in each category since these are only examples and things that I use. Or feel free to use the same, up to you. The point is that you should feel better about doing these things, not only do them because someone says you should.

Mind

- Podcasts

- Documentaries

- Books

- Meditation

- Positive self talk

Notice HOW you feed your mind. Can you learn and grow from what you do?

Body

- Massage

- Food & water

- Exercise in any form, like weights, yoga, pilates, running, walking etc.

- Slowing down

Find your own form of activity. Take time to do nothing for a while, just sit with yourself. Get nutritious and right amount of food into your body, get enough water. Receive a calm, relaxing and tension releasing massage every now and then to help your body get back into balance again.

Of course I need to recommend this as a massage therapist. 😉

Soul

- Nature

- Meditation

- Music

- Friends

- Family

- Animals

Think of what makes you happy and get more of that into your life.

What I do is to try and pick one thing from each category. In that way, I make sure I get the best selfcare possible for me. Remember though, life can come inbetween sometimes so don’t be too strict with yourself or feel bad if you miss a day or two. It’s easy to get back to it again even after a little break. Do what works best for you and the most important, do it for yourself and keep it simple! 😊
