Spending holidays in a healthy way

How are you feeling these days before christmas? Calm? In harmony? Stressed? Overwhelmed?


I hope it is one of the first options but from experience, I know many people feel stressed over everything that ”has” to be done during christmas times. There are foods, christmas gifts to children and grandchildren and a pressed schedule of meeting people you don’t meet that often during the rest of the year. Because this is what you do, right?


It is important to be reminded that we don’t need to define our own worth from things we do. There is nothing here we ”have” to do. Maybe we should challenge ourselves and our closed ones to do something different. Is there any part of your christmas celebration that makes you stressed? Try to change that for something else or even skip it.



According to me, these kind of celebrations and extra holidays should be time for rest, recovery and doing things you enjoy and makes you happy. You don’t need to push the schedule during these 1-2 weeks when there are 50 other weeks left during the year. Make yourself and your loved once a priority, that’s what matters the most at the end of life.
